I may have never met you, Sawyer, but your memory has certainly made an impact on my life. You are my extra dose of strength when I don’t have enough, and my constant reminder to be outrageous and true to myself. I am beginning to understand why the Plan of Salvation is also called the Plan of Happiness. The thought of Sawyer and his family one day being reunited is the most beautiful hope. I anxiously await that day. But for now, we carry Sawyer with us, through our bracelets, and in our hearts. 

Every faithful, every remembering these kind friends remember and honor Sawyer regularly. Our heroes!

Things that involve going to the elementary school where Sawyer attended were difficult, almost impossible. We hoped that a new school for Sterling would help, and it has, but at some point, all things childhood related are tough. Today we were sporting #mysawyerbracelet as we volunteered at Fall Field Day at Sterling's new school. We were tender-hearted as we recalled years of volunteering with Sawyer but thrilled we could muster the courage to spend the day with our girl!

"October is a tough month for some dear friends of mine.  Two years ago they lost their youngest son to a sudden illness.  I usually wear his remembrance bracelet when I am hiking.  The bracelet says “be outrageous, be strong, be you.”  I especially think of Sawyer when I’m on a high cliff or crossing a difficult creek.  He was a fearless, spirited young boy who left this world way to soon.  This one is for you my young friend."
