We weren't sure how to celebrate Sawyer's 13th birthday that fell on the Super Bowl this year. We knew we would be immersed in SB celebrations if he were here, but since his death his birthdays have been tough and this one was particularly painful. We spent the day in Williamsburg so we wouldn't mope around the house. We had a friend bring us a beautiful meal and we had other friends invite us to watch the SB at their house. Unsure how long we would stay, we went anyway and it felt right. We didn't stay forever but made it longer than we'd thought. Sterling was buzzing around so somehow didn't end up in any of the pictures, but it was actually an ok day. Thanks, friends, for showering us with love.
